Grève de Lecq Barracks is the only surviving barracks left on the north coast of the Island. An excellent example of a self contained military unit, the barracks retains many original features including two prison cells and the ablutions block. Constructed in 1810 against the threat of Napoleonic invasion, visitors can learn about the living conditions of the soldiers and officers, the defences of the island and the beginning of tourism in Jersey. Grève de Lecq Barrack will be closed for 2018.
