The Wetlands Centre
On February 2nd 1971, the Convention for Wetlands was adopted by seven countries, and have since been joined by 170 parties to help to protect one of the world’s most important ecosystems. It is now the oldest global international environmental agreement and preserves over 2,000 wetlands.
Join our lands team and education officers in our wonderful Wetlands Centre to celebrate 40 years of working to protect these valuable wild areas. Take part in engaging activities to learn about the flora and fauna of our precious reed beds, and the importance of this precious habitat to the wellbeing of our island and indeed our world.

In Jersey, Liberation Day (Jèrriais: Jour d’la Libéthâtion) is celebrated each year on 9 May, to mark the end of the occupation by Nazi Germany during World War II. It is celebrated as Jersey’s national day.

Celebrating the wellness and fitness movement, The Awakening Wellness & Fitness Festival will include a stage with celebrity fitness and live podcasts, as well as number of workshops, from fitness, to meditation and mindfulness, creativity. Healthy food, boutique shopping and children’s activities will also be on offer. Alice Liveing, a personal trainer with 630k Instagram followers, and a food writer and Jasmine Hemsley, a TV presenter, have been announced as the guests of Jersey’s first ever Festival.

The National Trust for Jersey is staging its annual environment festival #LoveNature. Set in and around St. Ouen’s Bay in Jersey’s National Park and at other Sites of Special Interest owned by the Trust, the event coincides with and showcases the open afternoon at Le Noir Pré to see the wild orchids in all their glory. Participants are invited to enjoy a week of all things ‘green’ such as scenic walks, bird tours, dawn chorus and sunset activities, bug safaris, pollinator picnics and a host of other wildlife activities.

Steep winding hills and straights beside the long beaches provide the perfect combination for a motoring festival, and Jersey has it all. The RUBiS Jersey International Motoring Festival is the largest annual motoring event in the Channel Islands, with competitive sprint and hill climbs for classic and vintage cars and motorcycles, a touring event for visitors and locals alike visiting various places of interest and stopping for refreshments around the island.

The aim of the event is to raise valuable funds for the Bloodwise Charity, through participating in a fun kids triathlon event. The event is open to children of all abilities aged between 6 to 13 (Years 2-8). This event is designed to be fun and non competitive. Our aim is to see every single participant successfully complete the course.
The Triathlon event is family friendly and offers plenty of entertainment, food and drink options and plenty of prizes to be won.

Join the group swim at the start of the month then decide where and when to swim, joining the final group swim at the end of the month

The festival returns next summer with an even bigger line-up and even loftier ambitions. In 2021 the festival will feature two stages.
The Main Stage is headlined by the chart-topping, multiple platinum-selling, BRIT Award-winning and GRAMMY® Award-nominated star Jessie J, who is joined on the bill by Razorlight, Dr Hook and a further two acts to be announced. The challenge plans to include a stunning 4.5k running challenge across the length of Sark, where teams will meet in Sark on the morning of the event and together run from one end of the beautiful Island to the other. At the end of the run, teams will transition into their team boats from the shores of Sark and one team member will dive straight into the sea to start the swim relay challenge. The swim takes teams from the shores of Sark to the bay of of Greve De Lecq, Jersey (subject to all final permissions and government event guidelines).

With a professional yet friendly atmosphere, the Jersey Marathon welcomes runners of all ages and abilities; Elite athletes compete for prize money and course records, whilst many runners participate to do something truly amazing for themselves and for the benefit of others. Corporate teams work together to take on the Relay Race and vie for the prestige of winning their industry trophy, while families, junior and short course athletes test themselves over the Marathon Mile distance through the heart of our town.
As a firm fixture in islanders’ calendars, all runners can expect huge support from local residents around the entire route, and to quote a recent runner ‘The Jersey Marathon is a small race, with a very big atmosphere’.

The Ultra Tour of Jersey is a new and unique format to the island’s sporting calendar and will encompass a two day off-road running adventure, across breath-taking coastlines and countryside, racking up a total distance 52 miles.

The True Grit Wetwheels Challenge is a 4.3KM running race with a difference.
The challenging course is set in a unique and stunning location, taking runners on a challenging adventure through the Ronez Quarry site on Jersey’s rugged North coast.
The physical but fun route involves tough terrain and challenging climbs, all whilst navigating around the gigantic Ronez machinery and equipment!
Set in one of Jersey’s most remarkable environments, runners will start their race in a series of waves at the top of the quarry, then make their way 28 metres below sea level to the pit before starting the climb back out. This tough course is made well worth it by the panoramic views over to the North coast of Jersey at the finish.
